In addition to chick flicks, I read romance novels and short stories, comics about love, and obsess over character relationships in TV shows. Love, in fiction, always follows the same basic patterns-- but I've never found this boring. Rather, I feel comfortable in the safe place between two people falling impossibly in love on-screen. In this magical perfect world, love is easy, predictable, and entertaining.
